Worksafe® Structure

Documentation and software

Our WorkSafe® software is Microsoft ™ compliant, built using the latest .NET standards. It is highly flexible, allowing users to make changes to the system, individual processes and form layouts.

WorkSafe® modules reduce ‘form filling’ bureaucracy, aid the thought process and increase control of work.

There are five procedures and three specific work control modules within the base WorkSafe® system. These can be tailored to suit your requirements.

Safe Management of Work

This procedure describes how the WorkSafe®Control of Work elements are together used to manage work. It defines all the relevant terms and the key roles and responsibilities within the system.

Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA)

HIRA is both a procedure and a software module. The procedure describes how risk is assessed and how a HIRA output can be used to control low hazard work reducing the number of permits.

Hazards and precautions are selected from the WorkSafe® database or typed in ‘free form’. You then use your own risk matrix to assess initial and residual risk. The HIRA process identifies where a permit to work or a certificate is required, assisting with work categorisation.

Permit to Work (PTW)

Permit to Work is both a procedure and a software module. The PTW procedure describes how hazardous work is controlled.

Management of Isolations – Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)

Management of Isolations is both a procedure and a software module. The LOTO procedure describes how electrical energy and piping system pressure and contents are isolated. The software module reduces label writing bureaucracy and increases control of the isolation, partial and final de-isolation of plant.

Sub-systems

The Permit to Work procedure is supplemented by a number of sub-system procedures specific to the hazardous activities carried out on the facility. These will typically include: confined space entry; excavation; diving; etc. Sub-system procedures use certificates to specify additional hazards and precautions as well as additional authorisations. Certificates can be either paper-based or added as semi-automated processes within the Permit to Work software module.

Configurable and Flexible

All of the WorkSafe® procedures can be configured to suit your corporate requirements or specific facility requirements as a single Control of Work System. Alternatively, one or more of the WorkSafe® procedures can be configured to be used with your existing corporate or your existing specific facility procedures.

WorkSafe® can be configured and implemented as a fully electronic Control of Work solution or as a combination of electronic and paper-based systems.
