Leading edge technology and skills can accurately visualise such
procedures as following a drill bit as it bores through the sub-sea
rock or viewing a bubble of gas as it passes through a valve,
with the valve cut away showing just how it works.
For one client, Cresent took photographs of their offshore platform,
then replicated parts of the facility within a 3D drawn environment.
Using this visual framework, which is very familiar to the core crew
of the platform, a number of real and simulated hazards were added
to develop a series of highly interactive exercises.

Cresent can use any combination of photography, animation or 3D to meet the appropriate requirements. Where it is not possible to capture the desired images with photography or video, 3D technology comes into its own. Cresent has ‘virtually’ exploded sections of refinery plant, crashed cars on sites, knocked people over with drill pipe, set fire to office equipment, and spilled 1000 tonnes of heavy crude oil into the sea.
The visual content for these presentations can be delivered on a range of media, including DVD, CD-ROM or via the web. In each case the material is delivered fully optimised for the client’s chosen media.
