Elementary First Aid


Minimise the impacts of Medical Emergencies

Elementary First Aid training is a requirement for all who work offshore, as initial steps taken by a trained first-aider can often be crucial to the survival of the casualty. This course was developed in association with FL Training Services, and is highly specific to the unique requirements of the offshore working environment.

The Elementary First Aid Course will provide participants with the immediate life-saving measures necessary (to STCW95 requirements) in the event of a medical emergency. The course also features a range of interactive and informative multimedia exercises to aid understanding. Successful completion of this course will provide your staff with knowledge of the means to assess emergency situations and aid casualties safely and quickly.

Cresent has 20 years experience in the provision of oil and gas safety training in compliance with current legislation and Industry Best Practise.

Learning Outcomes:

• Know the aims and responsibilities of the first aider and the necessary actions to carry out an initial
  assessment of a casualty
• Know the necessary actions to take in order to carry out emergency resuscitation and place the casualty in
  the recovery position
• Appreciate the different types and causes of various medical emergencies
• Have an understanding of the immediate first aid actions when encountering an accident or other medical
  emergency.
