Firewatcher / Standbyman


Significantly reduce workplace incidents by increasing Firewatcher and
Over The Side Standby Man safety awareness

The Standby Man Firewatcher and Over The Side course is divided into two sections. Both sections need to be completed to perform Standby Man duties safely. This course will give your staff an excellent appreciation of the key features of both Firewatch and Over The Side systems used throughout the oil and gas industry.

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to work within any facility and appreciate how you can take an active role as a Standby Man. You will also have a proper understanding of your own personal responsibility for safety and a greater appreciation of behaving safely as a means of reducing workplace accidents.

• Recognise the risks and precautions associated with Hotwork and Over the Side Working
• Recognise the accepted methods of Communication
