Minimise the risk of fire on offshore platforms

The Fire Fighting course is suitable for all staff working in an onshore or offshore environment where the risk of fire is relevant. The content for this course has been produced with the full
co-operation of Grampian Fire Brigade and satisfies STCW95 Regulations.

The course also features a range of highly interactive multimedia exercises and will provide an ideal means to learn vitally important fire training in a simulated safe and clean environment. On completion of this course, your staff will understand how to minimise the risk of fire, along with knowledge of the correct procedures involved in the event of an emergency situation.

The superb quality of photographs used in this course makes each trainee feel as if they are really there fighting the fire.

Learning Outcomes:

• Know what types of fire-fighting appliances are typically used offshore
• Appreciate the importance of knowing the location of such equipment and emergency escape routes
• Understand the elements of fire and explosion together with the types and sources of ignition, and how fires
  spread
• Know what actions to take immediately on hearing any alarm
• Have sufficient knowledge to identify the various classifications of fire and the applicable fire extinguishing
  agents
• Be familiar with the various methods used to fight certain fire types.
